FCC Matrix Components and Their Combination with Y Zeolite to Enhance the Deoxygenation of Bio-oils

The immediate catalytic conversions of pyrolytic bio-oils from pine sawdust and soybean shell over mesoporous catalysts (silica, alumina, silica-alumina) their combinations with Y zeolite, were studied. effect mesoporosity acidity on the bio-oil deoxygenation conversion into hydrocarbons was investigated. Pyrolysis performed in an integrated pyrolysis–upgrading reactor, for 7 min under a 30-ml/min flow nitrogen at 550 °C. Important differences observed bio-oils, according to composition raw biomasses. Pine produced more coke less range gasoline than all catalysts. Mesoporous showed between 14 29 percentage points higher acidic solid (SiO2-Al2O3) case 2 10 having highest specific surface area (SiO2) bio-oil. Among compound catalysts, best performance corresponded catalyst (Y/SiO2), while most (Y/Al2O3 Y/SiO2-Al2O3). Soybean low molecular weight compounds (less 130 g mol?1), which diffuse easily zeolite channels, thus favoring mechanisms. On contrary, bio-oil, contributed by mesopores matrix played key role pre-cracking bulky molecules.
